President gets first piece of Big Bang Angola watch

Luanda - The Angolan head of State, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Tuesday in Luanda received the first piece of the Swiss-made Big Bang Angola watch, created by Angolan Rui Alvim Faria.

According to the State~owned “Radio Nacional de Angola” broadcasting station that quoted Rui Alvim Faria, the watch bears as its main features the country's insignia, colours and a diamond.

Speaking to journalists at the end of the audience, he said he was honoured to have handed over the first “Big Bang Angola” to President José Eduardo dos Santos, of a limited collection of 220 pieces corresponding to the number of National Assembly (Angolan Parliament)'s MPs.
 

“I am honoured by the fact that the President of the Republic has granted me this audience and on my own behalf I offered him the first watch of the high Swiss watch-making,” he stated.

Rui Alvim recalled that this is the first time a watch is manufactured bearing the name of a country, that is Angola, with the main feature being the symbols and richness of the country, the colours of its flag and a locally mined diamond.
